Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (TU-IOM), Pokhara Nursing Campus was established in 1983 A.D. in Pokhara, Kaski, Gandaki Province, Nepal, as an educational institution dedicated to educating and preparing competent nursing professionals in the health sector. Pokhara Nursing Campus is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (TU-IOM), one of the pioneer institution for health professional education in Nepal. The campus received Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) certification from University Grant Commission, Nepal in September 2022, reflecting its commitment to quality education, academic excellence, continuous improvement, and institutional development.

Since its establishment, the campus has progressively expanded its academic programs, beginning with CMA, followed by PCL Nursing, and subsequently developing undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs. Currently, Pokhara Nursing Campus offers Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing), and Master of Nursing (MN) programs. Students are enrolled in the respective programs the according to the merit list based on the Medical Education Commission (MEC) Nepal common entrance examination results. At present, the annual intake capacity is 11 seats for MN, 40 seats for BNS, and 40 seats for B.Sc. Nursing.

The Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing (PBBN) program was introduced at Pokhara Nursing Campus in 2005 B.S. and was later transformed into the three-year Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNS) program in 2013 A.D. Similarly, the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) program was introduced in 2016 A.D. The Master in Nursing (MN) program was introduced in 2011 A.D. with an initial intake of four students in the Adult Health Nursing specialty. The program was subsequently expanded to Child Health Nursing and Women’s Health and Development specialties in 2017 A.D.

Pokhara Nursing Campus provides a supportive academic environment with essential facilities for both students and faculty, including well-equipped classrooms, nursing and science laboratories, a library, computer and internet services, and adequate teaching-learning resources. Students also have access to clinical learning opportunities, accommodation/hostel facilities, recreational and extracurricular activities, transportation, and other student-support services. Faculty members are provided with appropriate teaching, administrative, professional development, and research facilities to support effective academic and institutional activities.
