Physical Facilities and Infrastructure


The total land of the campus is 64835 sq .m.The land where the main building of campus is situated in 46633.1 sq .m.and the leased land in 18201.92sq.m (35 ropani 12 ana) and Proposed land for hospital construction is 1412.27 sq.m. The campus is enriched with 3 buildings; 1 library and classroom building, 1 laboratory and class room building and 1 administrative building. Library and classroom building covers 571.29m2 plinth areas and laboratory and classroom building covers 254.945 m2. In library and classroom building, there is library in ground floor, classrooms, e-library, seminar hall in first floor and office for research management cell in 2nd floor.


Administrative building
Administrative building is the main component which administers the entire administrative activities of the campus covering 816.01 m2 plinth areas including old library building. Administrative building includes campus chief office, examination section, administrative section, account section, store, meeting hall, faculty room for Adult Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Womens' Health and Development and 5 Community Health Nursing. Furthermore, 1 one classroom, Community and Nutrition lab, first aid room, student welfare office, students changing room is also present in the same building. Extension counter of Nepal Bank Limited is also present there.

 

Classroom
The classrooms are well-furnished and equipped to accommodate approximately 45 students each. Every classroom features a multimedia projector, a whiteboard, ceiling fans, electrical ports, power backup facilities, and internet connectivity. There are a total of 12 classrooms: 1 in A Block, 3 in C Block and 8 in D Block. These classrooms are also utilized by external organizations for conducting exams, reflecting their versatility and functionality.

 

Library
The library is located on the ground floor of the Library and Classroom Building, constructed in 2018. It offers a comfortable and spacious study environment for up to 100 readers, with a well-furnished reading room. The library covers a total carpet area of 571.29 sq.m.

Since 2012, the library has provided high-speed internet and modern facilities for its users. Its collection is diverse, including 7,000 textbooks, 2,000 reference books, 100 national and international journals, 80 magazines, 1,996 additional books, and more than two national daily newspapers. The library's digital resources are expanding rapidly, with an E-Resource Centre that provides online access to databases for faculty members, students, and researchers. The campus library is also a valuable resource for nursing students from other campuses, especially for accessing research reports.

 

Laboratories
Campus has four laboratories, which include the Midwifery and Paediatric Nursing Skill Lab, the Fundamentals of Nursing Skill Lab, the Community Health Nursing and Nutrition Lab, and the Basic Science Science Lab (Anatomy/Physiology/Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pathology), available for students. All the laboratories are well furnished and well equipped. Nursing procedures of Fundamentals of Nursing and Adult Health Nursing are performed in the fundamental nursing skill lab before the students are posted in the clinicals. There are two dommies where students practice for different basic care, and one CPR dommy for practicing CPR. Likewise, there are adequate instruments and equipment for practicing different nursing procedures. The midwifery and paediatric skill lab includes mainly the equipment and instruments essential for antenatal care, postnatal care, and delivery. There is a dummy for antenatal examination, for conducting normal delivery, and postpartum hemorrhage management. There is a separate area for the neonatal resuscitation corner in the skilled lab. Different models of the breast, uterus, pelvis, and fetal skull are present for better learning. Baby Natalia is present for practicing helping babies breathe. There are adequate baby dummies for practicing newborn care and baby bathing. The basic science lab is used for six different subjects, namely Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Pathology. This lab is spacious and well equipped and contains different anatomical models, charts, microscopes, chemical reagents, and a centrifuge for performing lab exercises. The equipment and instruments are structured as per the NNC guidelines. The Community Health Nursing and Nutrition Lab is well equipped with different learning resources related to community health and nutrition. Examination beds, arm models, breast models, real materials, and fruit models are present, which facilitate students learning. Different learning materials, like pamphlets, flipcharts, and posters regarding different diseases, are available for awareness purposes and are used by students in the community.


Meeting hall
Campus has well furnished and well equipped meeting hall with multi media projector, video conferencing, sound system and internet facility. It has the capacity of around 35 participants. This meeting hall is used for conducting various departmental, inter departmental meeting in the campus.

 

Seminar cum Conference Hall
This Seminar cum Conference hall is situated on 1st floor of library and classroom building. It is well furnished and well equipped with multi media projector with screen, podium, wall attached speakers, wireless mike, head mike, amplifier, sound mixture with internet facility. It has the capacity of holding around 30 participants. This hall is used for conducting various training workshop, seminars, meeting in the campus.

 

IQAC Room
IQAC room is situated on the 1st floor of library and classroom building. It is well furnished and well equipped with multi media projector with internet facility.This hall is used for conducting various meeting related to IQAC/EMIS and SAT in the campus.

 

Hostel
The campus offers hostel facilities for students coming from outside Pokhara Valley. There are six hostel blocks, comprising a total of 81 rooms spread over an area of 988.806 sq.m. Each room accommodates two students and is furnished with essential furniture.Each block has four toilets and bathrooms, amounting to a total of 26 toilets across the hostel. A dedicated sick room is available for students requiring medical care.The hostel is equipped with Wi-Fi, ensuring internet access for all students.The dining hall is equipped with a Uro-Guard system to ensure the availability of safe drinking water. The hostel provides a mess facility, including a separate kitchen and dining hall. Additional facilities include an office for the housekeeping staff and a separate residence for the hostel warden. One of the hostel buildings also accommodates the students' union office.



Quarter
The campus has residence facilities to the faculties and staff those who are from out of Pokhara valley. There are 3 quarter blocks namely A, B and C with total 15 quarters in the plinth area of 1301.7 sqm. Out of 15, 1 quarter is for Guest house, 1 for PG students and remaining 13 is given to faculties and staffs. Each quarter consists of two bed rooms, one living room, one kitchen and a toilet bathroom. There are facilities of internet, safe drinking water , garage and waste disposal. These quarter were built in 1980 A.D.

Security System
The campus has a 24-hour security system at the main gate as well as in the hostel of campus. 

 

Playground
Campus has adequate unoccupied space, which has been used for playgrounds during sports activities. There is badminton court, volleyball court, table tennis board, and football ground for outdoor sports. Similarly, different indoor games are also available on campus.

 

Goddess Saraswati Temple
There is a goddess Saraswati temple inside the campus premises, which was inaugurated on the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja in 2074 B.S.

 

Separate store room
The campus has separate store room for keeping old furniture, equipment, instruments, etc.

 

Transportation Facilities
Vehicles are available for office and student field programs. There is one bus and one Scorpio Jeep on campus for transportation. Jeep is used mostly for office purposes, and bus is used for different academic activities of students.

 

Parking
There are three garage facilities inside the campus premises for faculties, staff, and students. One garage is for bikes and scooters; another small garage is for campus bus. In addition, there is a separate garage facility in the residence area too.
